The Cleveland Furniture Bank is open to qualified individuals and families that are referred by participating agencies and organizations. Qualified families and individuals include, but are not limited to:
- Victims of domestic violence, homelessness and chemical dependency who are moving out of shelters and transitional housing.
- People that have been in health care facilities due to physical or mental challenges
- People released from incarceration
- Refugee families that settle in our community
- Young adults leaving the foster care system
- Victims of personal and natural catastrophes such as fires, floods, and tornadoes
- Any agency or organization that serves needy individuals in Northeast Ohio may sign up to refer clients to the Cleveland Furniture Bank.
There is no fee to sign up and there is only a small administrative fee for each client referred to the Furniture Bank.
Families and individuals referred to the Furniture Bank are scheduled for an appointment to come into the Bank to select their furniture. The organization representative is responsible for calling to schedule a day and time for the client to redeem the furniture vouchers and meeting the client for their appointment. Unscheduled walk-ins will not be accepted.
Those clients receiving furniture are expected to provide transportation for the furniture they select, or they can make arrangements to use our low-priced delivery service.
